I have lived and worked in Bullitt County for most of my life. I attended Lebanon Junction Elementary when it was a K-8 school and then moved right to Bullitt Central High School, Class of 1988.
I have been teaching since 1993 and have a variety of experiences in Special Education, Regular Education, and Reading Recovery. I earned my Bachelor's Degree (K-5 & K-12 LBD) and Master's Degree with an Endorsement as a Reading Specialist from the University of Louisville. I have also earned National Board Certification in the area of Literacy.
My husband Mackie and I have been married since 1994. We have been coaching the NES Archery team together since 2011. We have 3 amazing daughters. Kaylee, a 2020 graduate of Bullitt Central & future Cosmotologist; Macy, a Freshman at the University of Kentucky & future neurologist; and Zoie, an 8th grader at Bullitt Lick Middle who still has plenty of time to decide on her future goals.
If I ever get free time, I like to read, crochet & knit. I enjoy watching birds & other critters from my front porch while I drink my morning coffee. I like to grow flowers & vegetables in my garden, float in the pool, and roast marshmallows over a bonfire with my family on our farm. I like to bake but I am allergic to chocolate. So another hobby of mine is searching for dessert recipes that are not chocolate.
